Dear Anonymous,

I stayed on due to the opportunity to connect with long lost friends and the younger generation. This venue is one they use frequently to organize and communicate. As a minister to women of all ages, this has allowed several opportunities for positive contact and encouragement and prayer!

“I am a participant of facebook, there are many pros and cons to this venue of communication and it took me quite a while to be convinced of anything positive. ” if it took you a long time to be convinced of anything positive, why did you stay on? what was your motivation to continue to participate in facebook for so long before the positive applications presented themselves?

Yes! Thank you for the reminder, Lori. How blessed we are that we have such a merciful loving Father who made a way for us to have a relationship with Him. I am grateful that Jesus came to earth and voluntarily paid the penalty for my/our sin so that we could spend eternity with Him. For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ.

I pray that God continue to work in the lives of the women at Faith and that your journeys would be filled with more and more of these types of intersections.

Your brokenness reminds me of an experience I had in NC. A friend of mine was a victim of repetitive domestic abuse and finally one weekend she and I went to the police to report her boyfriend. A week later he was in jail and even though he had a two or three prior sentences (for the same thing), he was only kept for one month in the county jail. Another man I knew who stole a computer from a local church that same week was also apprehended, had only one prior drug conviction and was sentenced for 3 yrs! So, indeed what you say is true–the value often placed on a woman’s body is– at least in the mind of the state–less and in this example even less then a computer!
