Serving
"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve..."
—Mark 10:45
Jesus Himself was a servant. When we walk in His ways, we also become servants.
This is why serving is a pillar of discipleship here at Faith Church.
We desire to see all of our church members express their love for God and others by serving in some capacity; formal or informal, in the church or in the community.
Here are some ways that you can serve at Faith Church:
- Teaching or caring for children in our children’s ministry
- Singing or playing an instrument on the worship team
- Providing audio/visual assistance for sound, slides, or technology
- Serving as a greeter or usher on a Sunday morning
- Setting up or cleaning up for church activities
- Participating in Church works days
- Helping the sick and elderly with practical needs
- Providing meals for families in need
- Lending a hand to neighbors, family members, or fellow church members
Furthermore, we love to see Christ-followers serving in the community. We facilitate opportunities to serve at places such as CareNet, Albuquerque Christian Children's Home, Rivers of Mercy Children's Home (in Juarez, Mexico), and to the Navajo Nation (through the ministry of Across Nations). We also have numerous people and families that serve on their own in various places (food banks, homeless shelters, women’s shelters, etc).
